Staff and students protest University Council meeting

A group of fifty staff and students from Victoria University held a protest on Monday 8 December at hte VU city-campus, opposing the mass redundancies and course closures.

Staff dressed in academic gowns held placcards calling for job security and target signs with the words “Stop Harman Our University”.

At the University Council meeting, the Vice Chancellor announced that 140 courses would be phased out in 2009, and 500 subject units would be cut.
