Standing up for the Western Suburbs

NTEU end-of-year party

Christmas is normally a time we like to celebrate with family and friends.

Vice-Chancellor Elizabeth Harman’s actions against staff since October 15 have been unacceptable.

Her announcement without warning to sack 270 staff is a slap in the face for every hard working staff member at the University. The subsequent announcement to cut 140 courses and 500 subject units shows that she does not care about the Western Suburbs or students in the community.

The NTEU will be holding a party on Monday 15 December, 1pm at the Riverview Function Centre to see out the end of the year, and to allow staff to boycott the Vice-Chancellor’s staff-party.

Community members and members of Friends of Victoria University are welcome.

Come and have a great end-of-year party with your friends on the banks of the Maribrynong at the NTEU and Friends of VU Christmas party: dancing, food, great conversations, 1 pm Footscray Rowing Club.

Let’s have a real celebration, without the Vice Chancellor.
